A word from the director

Under the theme Union Makes Us Strong, our curator for the 28th edition will call upon the creative energies of guest artists from many parts of the world combined with those of the region. Thus, we will be given an opportunity to rediscover the dynamic relationship between art and the region, which was the objective assigned to the very first Symposium.

This 28th edition will therefore offer the image of an innovative artistic endeavour by reconnecting with the one that perpetuates in its natural milieu. The Symposium continues to be the grand rendez-vous for visual arts in our country; the most important event of its kind held in a region, and certainly the longest established.

Baie-Saint-Paul can be justly proud.

This great achievement has been made possible by the support of our partners in the Canadian, Québécois and municipal governments, and of those who represent the entire business community of the region. Our heartfelt thanks go to those who lend us their energy and who share with us the dream for a Symposium that would be one of the great international artistic events, thus celebrating its 30th anniversary, in 2012.

To all our artists, to whom this Symposium is dedicated, I extend my best wishes for a very pleasant sojourn. To our visitors, I offer the pleasure of sharing with them this surge of artistic creation.
