Since 1982, the Symposium has been a strong supporter of emerging artists.
Guidelines
- Contributing to the development of current visual art trends by generating exchanges between Québécois, Canadian and International artists.
One of the Symposium’s objectives is to contribute to the development of contemporary art by bringing together artists from different generations, different origins and different experiences. The format of the Symposium fosters exchanges between artists evolving in diverse spheres of the contemporary art world. This represents a significant contribution to the development of the various trends of today’s art world.
- Promoting interaction between the artists and the different target audiences.
The Symposium’s second objective is that it be a joyful, accessible and educational event which makes it possible for the less informed visitors to become more familiar with and to take interest in contemporary works of art. Amateurs, as well as specialists, are thus provided with an opportunity to become more knowledgeable. To achieve that goal, emphasis is put on close interactions between the artists and the public. These interactions are supported by mediation activities such as guided tours, lectures, etc.
- Contributing to the development and dissemination of culture.
The Symposium’s third objective is to widen the dissemination of the works of Québécois and Canadian artists among contemporary art professionals and amateurs from all over the world.
