Baie-Saint-Paul has always displayed openness towards others. In recent years, Baie-Saint-Paul has become a must-attend rendez-vous for artists who come to discover its sole as well as its mountains. For the last decades, our city has distinguished itself with its Symposium of Contemporary Art: "The Symposium is an adven- ture fashioned by boldness" wrote in 1992, Mrs. Françoise Labbé, founder of the Symposium.

Over the last 26 years, the Symposium's objectives have remained constant: to stimulate pertinent reflexion and a better perception of our times while being mindful of the future. The theme of Baie- Saint-Paul’s International Symposium of Contem- porary Art’s 26th edition will be “The Collusions” as suggested by Mrs. Geneviève Pelletier,

our guest commissioner. Throughout the month of August, thirteen artists will go out and meet the public who will be privileged witnesses of their evolution and their self-questioning.

The entire community of Baie-Saint-Paul's will also join in this new adventure. Galleries and artists of the region will celebrate this event and there by add their contribution to the disse- mination of contemporary art.
